This is a wonderfully preserved example of a Regency period gold claddagh ring that has a superb braided hair band. The claddagh hands are made of gold, exact purity of the gold is unknown. The back of the ring is engraved with the date July 18, 1835 as well as the initials "M.H." The ring is a size 10. Excellent condition with no damage and virtually no wear whatsoever. The ring comes in the box in which it was found. The box is from H.M. Manheim & Co. in Nassau, NY and the bottom is impressed with "Germany." The box is in excellent condition as well, though it probably only dates to the early 1900's itself. Box has a push button latch mechanism.
